Tales from the on sales.

To the average american there a few concert in the world that they would bed, borrow, and steal for. Obviously they have never lived in this part of the country or in this state or in this city.

I have been working for one company that does sell those tickets and oh boy how people react are the best way ever. I thought the human race was whinny before but after working a few sales the human race has whining to an art.

My first concert ever that I got to sell for was Elton John in Portland. I was ready, I was in early, Starbucks at my side, paper and pen ready. Get an email, no mapping. Basically they get what they get a don't throw a fit.... or so I thought. Agents were a very happy about this and I found out why.

I was horrified after the first few calls because they went on sale and boom three calls in the concert was sold out. SOLD OUT! I underestimated the power of the English Fairy. I quickly had to tell customers "i'm sorry but there are no longer any tickets available for this event." I was called every name in the book. I didn't know that the English language could be used in such ways and so foully that dictionary was porn guide.

Guidelines to tickets sales: Follow the rules. If you don't tell everything the first time the caller is going to treat you like door mat that has lost is luster. You have to be brave, have thick scales and understand that it you fault and you are going to be the one that fixes it even though you really can't.

Elton John strikes again in the town where I live. Same thing. All tickets gone in a matter of 10 minutes. You are called every name in the book and a few new ones that I have to give respect to.

Wicked came to my town. Nothing is like having someone sing you every musical score from a movie just to kill you handle time just so they can kill the time from 9:59 am to 10 AM.

Working for a ticket vendor really makes you respect planning early. In the last three years there has been a huge concert on the famous event called hoopfest. People from here fear it and people that come into town for this are homeless and sleep in their cars.

So for those who plan on buying tickets please remember that you get what you get and you don't throw a fit or you will be mocked at.
